The private chat between Abhimanyu Easwaran and India head coach Gautam Gambhir over his constant snubs has been revealed by the Bengal batter's father.

However, he is yet to receive his Test cap, with over 960 days having passed since he first got his India call-up. A total of 15 players have debuted since his first inclusion in the squad, and even Karun Nair has made a comeback after eight years.

Easwaran has scored 7841 runs in 177 innings at an average of 48.70 in his immensely successful First-class career. He has hit 27 centuries and 31 fifties, which shows his appetite for scoring big runs.

With the amount of experience and runs in his bag, many expected Easwaran to finally make his Test debut after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired.

However, that didn't happen as Easwaran sat on the bench for all five Tests of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, and Gautam Gambhir's team management used Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair at the No.3 spot.

He was disturbed after not being picked for the fifth Test—he was expecting that call. I told him, 'Son, you have lived your dream.' He replied, 'I understand. I've lived my dream for 23 years, and not getting picked for one or two matches won’t shatter that.'"

"He was pissed off because he wasn’t picked. When I called him, he said, ‘Dad, I still haven’t found a place.’"
