Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal talked about the removal of Abrar Ahmed from the squad for the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He said that if the wrist spinner doesn't get to play, then what was the point of having him with the team for the last few months?

Ahead of the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, the Pakistan National Cricket Team made a massive announcement. The Shan Masood-led side released wrist spinner Abrar Ahmed from the squad and included him in the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the four-day game against Bangladesh A.

In an official statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board stated that they will be going with an all-pace attack for the first game. This is because the pitch for the first Test between the Pakistan National Cricket Team and the Bangladesh National Cricket Team will be a green track, as management has asked pitch curators to prepare the grassy pitch.

With all the pace-attack for the first Test, Pakistan ensured that Abrar Ahmed didn't get to sit on the bench, and hence, they added him to the Pakistan Shaheens squad. They wanted a wrist spinner to get some game time ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh, which will now take place in Rawalpindi.

Kamran Akmal wasn't amazed by Pakistan releasing Abrar Ahmed from the team. He pointed out his being the only spinner and not getting to play isn't good. He stressed that if the wrist spinner doesn't get to play on such, then where will he play? Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:

"I think the mindset I see in the first Test. Like you released Abrar Ahmed, you have announced only one spinner in the team. And you can make a pitch as you like but you play your spinners. It's a different thing, Salman Ali will come, he is a part-timer but he can't make the impact that Abrar Ahmed can.

"Then the second thing is that you have kept Abrar Ahmed for 8-10 months with the team. He won't play now, If he won't play on such pitches then where will he play?"

You can never develop your spinners like this - Kamran Akmal on Abrar Ahmed not playing the first Test against Bangladesh

Kamran Akmal also suggested a batting order to the Pakistan National Cricket Team while highlighting that even if they had 4 fast bowlers they could've still played Abrar Ahmed. He stressed that the team isn't allowing spinners to settle and if the spinner doesn't get to play against Bangladesh then when will he play? He explained:

"The batting order that I see. If you have to go with 4 fast bowlers. Then you can also play a spinner. Shan opens with Abdullah Shafiq. Then on the 3rd, you know, Saud Shakeel or Babar will come, then Salman Ali will come on the 7th, and you will play. If Aamir Jamal is playing, then I think the Pakistan team should do this. And on such pitches, if you have to make your spinner. Like in the past, we saw that our spinners used to get batters out whatever the kind of pitch was.

"You have to make that type of spinner. Or you want to make spinners who will play only on turning tracks, then Abrar Ahmed will play. You can never develop your spinners like this. You know that your spinners have been getting hit for 2-3 years. Your spinner is not getting settled. If your spinners don't play against these teams, then which team will they play against? I don't understand this," he concluded.
