Former Indian cricketer Murali Kartik has fired a strong attack on Pakistan and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on a live show over the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 controversy.
Kartik launched the scathing attack on the PCB after the Pakistan cricket team delayed their group-stage match against the UAE by a full hour after being stopped from boarding the bus at the last moment.

After which, several heated talks between the PCB, International Cricket Council (ICC), and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) happened, but despite all the drama over the handshake controversy, the Men in Green eventually played the match and won to secure their place in the Super Four round.

However, Kartik wasn’t impressed with whatever happened. The cricket expert blasted the PCB’s behavior, calling it immature and laughable.
He stressed that if Pakistan wanted to take a stand over the ongoing handshake saga and match referee Andy Pycroft's dispute, they should have stuck with it instead of backing down once they realized the financial hit involved.
Even kids in kindergarten nowadays don't behave like Pakistan: Murali Kartik
Murali Kartik was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz: “The only word I can think of right now is ‘absolutely childish and churlish.’ I think I can't think of anything else because when you think of… if you want to take a stand, please go ahead. I think for everybody in life, you take a stand but stick to it and have the conviction to stick to it.”
He further argued, “Just because when you see, oh, there could be a financial implication, which literally is 16 million US dollars over a handshake saga or over something like this, I can't think of anything."
"Even kids in kindergarten nowadays don't behave like this. So, it's a bit funny, and again, you're holding so many people to ransom for no rhyme or reason.”

Murali Kartik blasts Pakistan for “bargaining” over Asia Cup 2025 drama
The former Indian bowler further went on to compare Pakistan’s attitude to bargaining in a marketplace, where one threatens to walk away only to come back when offered a better deal. Karthik was shocked that an international cricket board could behave in such a manner.
He insisted that this wasn’t about Pakistan alone, but any team acting in this way deserves the same criticism. For him, holding the tournament, the fans, and the players hostage over baseless complaints showed no seriousness or dignity.
Kartik signed off by saying, “They're not behaving childishly, but it's like bargaining… Oh, 50 rupees, 30 rupees, 20 rupees. Oh no, I'll go away. Then the person calls you, "No, no, sir, take it for 40 rupees, sir." This is that kind of stuff.”
Well, the stage is now set for another clash between India and Pakistan, a rivalry that is never just about cricket.
Their first meeting in the Asia Cup 2025 ended with India winning easily, but the game was soon forgotten, thanks to the infamous handshake controversy.
The Super Four clash between the two arch rivals on September 21 will be emotionally and politically charged.
