Australia National Cricket Team player Adam Zampa achieved a massive feat for the team in ODI cricket. The leg-spinner overtook former pacer Nathan Bracken to become the team's eighth-highest wicket-taker in the history of ODI cricket.

Australia spinner Adam Zampa achieved the milestone during the fourth ODI of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team. The game between the two teams took place on Friday (27th September) at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

Although Australia lost the game, Adam Zampa was the shining light for the team in the game. He was a bit expensive with the ball, but he managed to pick important wickets for his team. The leg-spinner removed England skipper Harry Brook and Ben Duckett, who both looked threatening at the crease and slammed half-centuries.

Adam Zampa, with his two wickets in the game, completed 175 wickets in the ODI and now stands 8th on the leading wicket-taker list for Australia. The leg-spinner has picked at an average of 27.99, with best figures of 5/35. He also has 11 four-wicket hauls and a five-wicket haul in ODIs.

Adam Zampa went past Nathan Bracken, who picked 174 wickets in 116 ODIs at an average of 24.36, with best figures of 5/47. He also took five 4-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls in ODIs. Bowling greats Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee (380 wickets each) are the joint-highest wicket-takers in ODIs for the team.

Zampa, since making his debut for the team in 2016, has been the backbone of the Australian bowling lineup. He has turned into a genuine wicket-taker for the team and has many times brought the team back into the game with his exceptional skills in the middle overs.

Adam Zampa fails to win the game for his team

Adam Zampa couldn't help his team win fourth ODI against England. The hosts were dominant with the bat and ball as made sure they level the series 2-2. The Harry Brook-led side, on account of half-centuries by the skipper (87), Ben Duckett (63), and Liam Livingstone (62*), posted a giant total of 312/5 in their 39 overs.

In the chase, Travis Head (34) and Mitchell Marsh (28) gave a great start to the team, adding 68 runs for the opening partnership. But after that, nothing went their way as Matthew Potts (4/38) and Brydon Carse (3/36) wreaked havoc across the opposition and bundled them out for 126 to win the game by a massive margin of 186 runs.

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh opened up about the loss, admitting that England outplayed them. He also applauded the opposition bowlers. He said:

"Fair play to England, they put us under a lot of pressure. They completely outplayed us. Probably a bit above par, Liam Livingstone played a gem of an innings. In a run-chase like that, you need one or two big partnerships. England bowled well, we lost wickets continuously.

"That's cricket. It's going to be a great experience (final ODI), we obviously would have liked to wrap up the series in the last couple of games. England have come back really strongly, we go to Bristol, excited for the opportunity."
