England’s star spinner Adil Rashid recently took part in a fun “blind test” segment, and the results have now been making rounds on social media. The seasoned leg-spinner was asked to rank players in three different categories - batters, fast bowlers, and spinners, without knowing whose name came up.
In the batters’ category, Adil Rashid placed the Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli at the top, followed by England’s Test legend Joe Root, Australia’s batting maestro Steve Smith, New Zealand icon Kane Williamson, and Pakistan star Babar Azam.

These five cricketers have been mainstays of their respective teams’s batting lineups across the formats for more than a decade. However, Virat Kohli retired from T20I cricket last year and Test cricket a few months ago. The former Indian captain will now only play ODIs for India.

Meanwhile, for the fast bowlers’ category, Rashid went with India’s premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah as the best, followed by England’s Jofra Archer, New Zealand’s pace great Trent Boult, Australia’s seasoned fast bowler Mitchell Starc, and Pakistan’s pace sensation Shaheen Afridi.
They all have been known for their excellence across the format, with Bumrah being widely regarded as the best modern-era fast bowler across the formats in any conditions. Starc is truly the biggest match-winner, with multiple ICC titles under his belt.

Trent Boult is also a legend in his own league and one of the greatest bowlers in New Zealand cricket history. He has over 610 wickets to his name in international cricket. However, Archer has been out of the action for a long time now, but his raw pace is still rated high across the formats.
Well, things got really interesting in the spinners’ list. Rashid was surprised when the final name was revealed to be his own. But showing great sportsmanship, the English spinner immediately denied placing himself at the top.
Instead, Adil named the late Australian legend Shane Warne as his No. 1 spinner of all time. He ranked the Indian wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav as the second-best spinner in the world, followed by Afghanistan spin wizard Rashid Khan, Australian star Adam Zampa, and Pakistan’s Shadab Khan.
