The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the latest update of their T20I men’s players rankings on July 21, 2021. The ICC gives weekly player rankings updates for all three formats on basis of the ongoing matches. The update saw Adil Rashid and Mohammad Rizwan making huge strides in the respective rankings for bowlers and batsmen.

England faced Pakistan in the T20I series recently, which ended in the host team winning by 2-1. Pakistan had started off nicely, by winning the first T20I in style, piling up 232 runs batting first and keeping England to 201 runs despite a blazing century by Liam Livingstone, who also slammed a 121.96 meter six during the England innings.

However, England came back strongly in the remaining two T20Is, to win by 45 runs and 3 wickets respectively and pocketing the series 2-1.

Mohammad Rizwan Rises Up In ICC T20I Rankings’ Latest Update

Mohammad Rizwan has a tremendous outing for Pakistan in the T20I series as he made 176 runs in 3 innings with 2 half-centuries to his name. His highest score of 76 came in the losing cause of the third T20I match. He has also scored 63 in the first T20I which Pakistan won easily by slamming 232 on the board.

Rizwan had added 150 runs for the opening wicket with captain Babar Azam, who made 85 runs. Overall this performance helped Rizwan move up the T20I rankings for batsmen, as he is now at the 7th spot with 709 rating points.

Adil Rashid Hero Of England’s T20I Series Win

Adil Rashid was the pick of England bowlers as he took 6 wickets in the series including the best bowling performance of 4/35 coming in the third and final T20I. His bowling helped England keep Pakistan to 154/6 in 20 overs as they batted first after Babar Azam won the toss.

Mohammad Rizwan made 76*, but Rashid picked crucial wickets of the skipper, Sohaib Maqsood, Mohammad Hafeez, and Shadab Khan. In the end, England won the match by 3 wickets and pocketed the series 2-1.

Adil Rashid, as a result of his amazing bowling, has moved to 4th spot in ICC T20I bowlers’ rankings with 689 rating points.
