Former Pakistan pace bowler Tanvir Ahmed has opened up about former cricketer Gary Kirsten's resignation as Pakistan's white-ball head coach. Tanvir Ahmed slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over Gary Kirsten's resignation from the ODI and T20I formats, describing it as the most corrupt board.

Gary Kirsten has resigned as Pakistan's head coach for ODIs and T20Is following a disagreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He and red-ball coach Jason Gillespie were removed from the selection committee after the Pakistan team's loss to England in the first Test match of the recent series.

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Kirsten engaged in multiple discussions regarding the squad for the upcoming tour of Australia. He has had disagreements with the Pakistan Cricket Board. The former cricketer resigned from his role despite signing a two-year contract with the board in April 2024.

Jason Gillespie Will Also Leave - Tanvir Ahmed

Tanvir Ahmed expressed his disappointment regarding Gary Kirsten's departure, adding that red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie would soon follow him. He criticized the system, stating that it lacks respect for its own members. Tanvir highlighted that their system is filled with corruption.

"Gary gaya ye bhi janey wala ha ruk jao bilkul sahi chora gary ney humare tou izzat ha nahi dosro ki izzat ha bhai humarey system main corruption bhare hoi ha. (Gary has left and soon he (Jason Gillespie) will also leave, just wait. In our system, we don't have respect, but others do. Our system is filled with corruption," Tanvir posted on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

Mohammad Rizwan Appointed As Pakistan White-ball Captain

Kirsten's resignation comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board's recent decision to appoint Mohammad Rizwan as the new captain. Notably, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and selection committee member Aaqib Javed were present during the press conference along with Rizwan and vice-captain Agha Salman.

On Monday, October 28, the Pakistan Cricket Board accepted the former South Africa cricketer's resignation as the men's white-ball head coach. The PCB confirmed that Jason Gillespie will coach the team during the upcoming tour of Australia. Kirsten and Gillespie were appointed as coaches in April 2024.
