The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 amid the tensions between India and Pakistan. There are growing concerns about whether the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will be able to proceed with its own T20 Mumbai tournament.

The Mumbai Cricket Association is set to host the third season of the Mumbai League from May 26 to June 5. This year's edition will feature eight teams, including two new franchises. The games will take place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, and the tournament will have a star-studded lineup of players.

Another Indian Tournament Likely To Be Suspended After IPL 2025

The Times of India journalist Gaurav Gupta raised concerns about the fate of the T20 Mumbai League amid the suspension of IPL 2025. He said the Mumbai Cricket Association might not be able to go ahead with the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on May 26.

Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav Among Six Icon Players

Six marquee players were selected as icons for the 2025 T20 Mumbai League. Each of the eight teams in the T20 Mumbai League has chosen an Indian international as its icon player, generating buzz ahead of the tournament.

Shreyas Iyer, named the icon player for SoBo Mumbai Falcons, is the captain of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL. Suryakumar Yadav will represent Triumph Knights Mumbai North East in the local league.

Other icon players include Shivam Dube (Chennai Super Kings), Tushar Deshpande (Rajasthan Royals), Shardul Thakur (Lucknow Super Giants), and Ajinkya Rahane (Kolkata Knight Riders). The complete team rosters for the T20 Mumbai League were announced after the recent auction.
