The disrespect of the premier India National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Mohammed Shami, who has been an absolute legend of the game, has continued with the new announcement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Actually, on Wednesday, November 5, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Test squad for the upcoming home assignment and once again snubbed Mohammed Shami from the squad.

Mohammed Shami last played for India in the Champions Trophy

The 35-year-old quick Shami is regarded as one of the best pacers to have played for the India National Cricket Team and he has delivered exceptional performances for the side across all three formats.

His best has been seen at the grand stages as his performances in the ICC events have been absolutely extraordinary. In the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, Shami switched on his beast mode after initial snubs and took India to the final.

He had a terrific World Cup campaign where he bagged 24 wickets in 7 matches and finished as the top wicket-taker in the competition, although India couldn't capture the title.

During the same World Cup, he suffered an ankle injury, which he managed through injections while playing, but eventually required surgery. After going under the knife, he was out of action for a very long time and returned to India's white-ball setup for the home series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

In the marquee tournament, he didn't look as threatening as he used to be, but still, the pacer finished as India's joint-highest wicket-taker.

Ajit Agarkar again snubs Mohammed Shami

After playing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Shami would have expected to receive a Test recall for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, but that didn't happen and the BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar cited fitness issues as the reason behind his exclusion.

He was also ignored for the Asia Cup 2025 and home Test series against West Indies, but he didn't give up and went on a grind in domestic cricket with the hope of a recall for the Test series against South Africa.

Shami recently played three Ranji Trophy games for Bengal in the ongoing season, picking 15 wickets at an average of 15.53, and a strike rate of 37.2. Despite having stunning numbers, he wasn't considered for selection.

Notably, Shami was earlier involved in a war of words with chief selector Ajit Agarkar and stated that he had no fitness issues and complained about the lack of communication.
