Albie Morkel's Super Kings journey comes full circle
Albie Morkel has been a part of the Super Kings family for many years. He joined Chennai Super Kings in the first-ever IPL auction in 2008 and went on to become one of the team's key all-rounders. Morkel played a key role in helping CSK win back-to-back IPL titles in 2010 and 2011.

On his appointment, Morkel said he feels proud and honored to become the head coach of Joburg Super Kings after being part of the Super Kings family for many years as a player and coach.
Morkel said in an official statement on the JSK website, “It is an incredible honor to be appointed head coach of the Joburg Super Kings. From wearing the Super Kings jersey as a player to now leading one of its franchises as head coach, this journey is truly special. I look forward to building on the strong foundations we've created together and helping this group achieve its full potential.”

Notably, Morkel had represented South Africa in 1 Test, 58 ODIs, and 50 T20Is between 2004 and 2015. He also had an outstanding T20 career, where he amassed more than 4,000 runs and scalped around 250 wickets in 319 matches.
