Formed Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has had a long tiff with the PSL management. He has now accused the PCB of luring him with a PSL contract if he could assure them of no further controversial statements about them.
Mr. Ali Tareen has been one of the biggest dignitaries in Pakistan cricket lately; however, his reputation would never have given him a license to backstab the PCB with the vile remarks. Tareen, however, had criticized the PSL management of the PCB.
After his accusations of mismanagement against them, the PSL committee denied renewing his contract and put the franchise's position in the competition for sale. Tareen lost his position in Pakistan cricket after that.
Ali Tareen's latest accusations against Mohsin Naqvi's PCB
Amid the controversy that never seemed to die down between the former Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen and the PCB, a new accusation has spiralled up. Tareen has brought fresh allegations against the Pakistan Cricket Board and the PSL management committee.
Through another X post, the former owner claimed, "The PCB told me that if I want to renew my MS contract I will have to give a legal undertaking that I will never criticise PSL management again."
He added, "Also to delete all my tweets where I called them incompetent and mediocre."

The rebranded Multan Sultans owner welcomed Ali Tareen for the PSL games
Multan Sultans were no longer a part of the PSL, and instead, two new teams came into existence. One of the teams was Sialkot Stallionz, who were then again bought by CD Ventures for the second time.
The new owner of the team, Gohar Shah, rebranded the team and changed the name to Multan Sultans. He said that he would take the legacy forward, which was started by the former owner, Ali Tareen. He also claimed that Tareen, who is a friend, is welcome to witness the games of the team.
Multan Sultans shocked all with their awkward choice for Captaincy
The Multan Sultans did not have just one or two players in the team who could have taken the captaincy duties. They bought Steven Smith, the Australian veteran, for a whopping price of PKR 14 crores.
Despite Smith's experience, he was not made the captain. On the other hand, Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood, in-form T20I batter Sahibzada Farhan, and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz were all overlooked for captaincy.
They were rather shocked, all announcing Ashton Turner, the Perth Scorchers skipper as their new captain. Tim Paine has been picked as the head coach of the team for the upcoming season.
The former Multan Sultans won the PSL once in 2021 and ended up as runners-up thrice between 2022 and 2024.
