India and England are currently up against each other in the third Test of the ongoing five-match Test series at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. Day 3 of the third test started like any other, but by the end of it, it was crackling with raw tension, fiery words, and boiling tempers.
The drama that unfolded in the final six minutes stole all the spotlight, as the fans witnessed pure Test match theater at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. It all began with an extraordinary coincidence. Both India and England were bowled out for 387, only the ninth time in Test history that both sides posted identical first-innings scores.
Shubman Gill unleashes fire as Lord’s turns into a battlefield
The Indian cricket team had just been dismissed 15 minutes before stumps. England, with only one over to survive, sent out openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett under gloomy, swing-friendly skies. They came with a calculated time-wasting strategy, leaving Indian players furious.

Duckett and Crawley were deliberately slowing down the game by taking their time to change gloves, calling the physio, and doing anything to avoid facing a full over on Day 3. And India’s skipper, Shubman Gill, failed to control his emotions, and his real character just burst out.
When Crawley asked for the physio with just one ball left in the day, Gill, charging in from mid-off like a man possessed, clapped sarcastically, mimicked the “impact player” gesture from the IPL, and let fly with a storm of words that the stump mic caught: “Grow some fucking balls.”
IPL teams slam England’s dirty tricks after Lord's drama
Almost the entire Indian cricket team swarmed the pitch. Jasprit Bumrah, standing tall at the top of his run-up, was also fuming. The umpires had to step in to prevent things from taking an ugly turn at Lord’s. Despite all the chaos, Bumrah sent down a beautiful final delivery.
It was a full, swinging, and threatening kiss of the off-stump. Crawley held his nerve, survived, and turned back immediately, escaping a storm. The umpires quietly removed the bails to signal the end of Day 3, but the tension caught the entire world’s eye.

ECB adds fuel to Lord’s row with sarcastic “One‑Over” swipe
However, after the IPL teams’ attack, the ECB responded by sharing a clip of the last over of Day 3 at Lord’s. Now, the ECB stirred fresh outrage with a cheeky response to India’s outrage over England's stalling tactics after Day 3’s fiery finish.
Downplaying India’s frustration, they mocked the tense end to Day 3 with a smug swipe that caught everyone's attention. Sharing the clip, the ECB responded to criticism by saying, “Always annoying when you can't get another over in before close 🙄.”
