The 28-year-old Saurabh Kumar, who was born on 1 May 1993, is an Indian cricketer who bats left-handed and bowls slow left-arm orthodox. He hails from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh and he has played domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh at U-19 and U-22 levels.

Saurabh Kumar recently got his India call-up and he has been named in India’s squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The first Test of the series will be played from March 4 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh and the second Test will be played from March 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

He made his first-class debut on December 7, 2014, for Services against Himachal Pradesh and in his debut game, he scored 45 runs and bagged one wicket.

Overall, he has played 46 first-class games and has scored 1572 runs at an average of 29.11, including 2 centuries and 8 fifties. He has bowled 10494 deliveries in his first-class career and has bagged 196 wickets at an average of 24.15, an economy of 2.70 and a strike rate of 53.5.

Saurabh Kumar Was Bought By Rising Pune Supergiants In 2017 And Punjab Kings In 2021

All-rounder Saurabh Kumar was bought by Rising Pune Supergiants in February 2017 at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 auction for INR 10 lakh. Also, he was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in February 2021 at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction for INR 20 lakh. However, didn’t get an opportunity to play.

Saurabh Kumar made his T20 debut on 8 January 2016 in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and he bagged two wickets in his debut match.

Overall he has played 33 T20 games and has scored 148 runs and has bagged 24 wickets at an average of 30.66, an economy of 7.03 and a strike rate of 26.1.

The 28-year-old was named India’s one of five net bowlers in the Test squad in January 2021 for the series against England.
