Uncertainty Surrounds IPL's Future Amid Escalating Tensions
On Thursday, Pakistan targeted multiple regions in India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, with drones. This occurred a day after India conducted Operation Sindoor, which targeted Pakistani terror hideouts, reportedly killing 100 militants.
In response to the escalating tensions, authorities imposed a blackout in several districts, including Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
The situation also affected the IPL 2025, with the match between Punjab and Delhi being called off midway due to air raid alerts in nearby areas. The 23,000 spectators and players at the Dharamsala stadium were evacuated for their safety. The cancellation has raised concerns about the future of the IPL.
