Former Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra has revealed his personal all-time bests from the IPL. When it comes to captaincy under pressure, Amit Mishra didn’t blink before selecting MS Dhoni as the best-ever IPL captain.
Calm, composed, and always a step ahead, MS Dhoni guided Chennai Super Kings through countless pressure-cooker situations with grace and grit and won five IPL trophies for them. Amit Mishra said on Cricbuzz, “I think MS Dhoni. I don't think MS Dhini ever felt any pressure.”

Sehwag’s ability to attack the bowler from ball one made him a nightmare to contain, and the former spinner said, “Virender Sehwag used to hit sixes all around the park.”
Mishra then picked Sri Lanka fast-bowling legend Lasith Malinga as the best-ever IPL bowler. The Sri Lankan speedster, who was famous for his toe-crushing yorkers and death-over dominance, was hailed by Mishra for being the ultimate match-winner, especially during crunch moments.

The former Indian spinner further noted, “Malinga. No doubt about it. The way he bowled for the Mumbai Indians. He bowled Yorkers and he has won so many matches in difficult times.”
On being asked to pick the best-ever IPL batter, Mishra has named none other than the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle. The Caribbean batting legend was known for his monstrous six-hitting ability and as one of the most feared batters ever to grace the tournament.
Mishra said, “I think Chris Gayle. He was a lefty. He was so powerful and he used to hit shots from anywhere.” He shared Delhi Capitals’ dressing room with the South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, and one of his spells against the KKR all-rounder Andre Russell left a lasting impact on him.

Speaking about the best-ever IPL bowling performance, the former leg-spinner noted, “I think Kagiso Rabada. There was a match. We went to the Super Over. Andre Russell was batting there. He bowled all the Yorkers. At that time, he was at his peak.”
And finally, when asked about the best IPL team of all time, Mishra picked the five times, the Mumbai Indians. He has pointed out that MI’s ability to rise from the brink, snatch victories from nowhere, and go all the way and win the trophy defines their true greatness.
Mishra signed off by saying, “I think Mumbai Indians. There is a reason for that too. They have done this twice. They had to win almost five matches consecutively. Sometimes, they had to win six or five matches. And they won from there the IPL trophy twice. I think it is a great achievement.”
