The India Women’s National Cricket Team has denied reports of any accommodation problems in Nagoya ahead of their Asian Games 2026 quarter-final against Japan. India head coach Amol Muzumdar and captain Harmanpreet Kaur said the team has been comfortable and has received all the facilities it needs.
Muzumdar said the hotel arrangements have been good since the team arrived. India travelled in two groups, with officials handling the first group’s check-in at the hotel. Harmanpreet Kaur also said the hotel arrangements, check-in process and facilities have all been smooth so far. Amid this, Muneeba Ali ruled out of Asian Games 2026.
Amol Muzumdar gives update on India’s hotel stay for Asian Games 2026
Amol Muzumdar said the India Women’s National Cricket Team has no complaints about the accommodation so far. The team was welcomed and supported by officials at the hotel. The first group of players and staff was taken care of by officials at the hotel.
Muzumdar said the check-in process was handled smoothly, and the Indian team has been satisfied with the arrangements in Japan. The Indian head coach was quoted as saying by Revsportz, "I think the accommodation is nice over here. I mean, we are pretty okay.”
He added, “I don’t think there are any complaints from our end. Just the check-in and everything was absolutely spotless, and we were pretty happy about it. In fact, we came in two contingents. The first one was taken care of by the officials right here in the hotel.
But as far as the Indian women’s cricket team is concerned, I think the accommodation – we don’t have any complaints about it.”

Harmanpreet Kaur echoed the Indian head coach’s comments and said the team has not faced any such issue, with the players getting their rooms within around 10 to 15 minutes. She was not aware of the reports about accommodation problems involving other teams.

Harmanpreet Kaur stated, "I think even we didn’t face any problems. I think we got everything in 10-15 minutes, like how usually we get the room and everything. I think we didn’t face anything. Even I don’t know what’s going on in the other part of, you know, the media and everything."
"But people here, they’re very nice. They were very welcoming. Whatever we needed, they provided. And I think we didn’t actually face any problem, and we are pretty happy with all the facilities so far."

Harmanpreet Kaur's side will face the hosts, Japan, in the quarter-final on September 18. The team enters the Asian Games 2026 after winning the Women’s Asia Cup for a record eighth time and will be looking to continue their stunning run in the multi-nation competition.
