India National Cricket Team T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav was at the receiving end of brutal criticism after his poor show in the five-match T20I series against England National Cricket Team.

Suryakumar Yadav endured his latest failure in the fifth and final T20I of the series against the Three Lions at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, February 02.

Suryakumar Yadav averages 6.75 in last 8 T20I innings

The explosive right-handed batter Suryakumar established himself as the best T20 batter in the world in a short span of time after making his debut in international cricket.

He played back-to-back sensational innings for India National Cricket Team and climbed to the top of the ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings.

Suryakumar's performance was so exceptional that he won the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year award in 2022 and 2023. However, there was a dip in his form in the year 2024, and the start of 2025 has been awful for India's T20I skipper.

In the ongoing T20I series against the Three Lions, Suryakumar has registered scores of 0, 12, 14, 0, and 2. This is the longest period of the lean patch that India's Mr.360 has endured in his T20I career.

Overall, in his last 8 innings in T20I cricket, Suryakumar has scored 54 runs at an average of 6.75. Following his poor performances, fans have lashed out at him and demanded his instant sacking and removal from the India playing XI.

Hopefully, there won't be any dew - Suryakumar Yadav

Speaking at the toss, Suryakumar Yadav was hopeful of dew not coming in the second innings. He also wanted the batters to play freely and express themselves in the middle. He elaborated:

"Not really. We wanted to bat first today. It looks like a good wicket, and there is a nice breeze around. Hopefully, there won't be any dew. I just saw. We took the right to get to Wankhede and there were a lot of guys. Hopefully, a packed crowd tonight. That's what we want boys raising their hands. Expressing themselves and that's what we want.

"The thing is, if you want to play that brand of cricket, you are going to fail, but stick to the process. We have one change. Mohammed Shami comes in place of Arshdeep Singh."
