Angkrish Raghuvanshi suffered a neck and finger injury during Kolkata Knight Riders' IPL 2026 clash against Mumbai Indians on May 20. Raghuvanshi accidentally crashed into teammate Varun Chakravarthy while attempting a high catch to dismiss Tilak Varma.
The collision was serious enough for the young batter to leave the field immediately after experiencing neck pain, dizziness, and a headache. Later, medical scans confirmed that he had also fractured a finger on his left hand. These injuries ended his IPL 2026 campaign in the middle of the season.
It was a massive setback for both Raghuvanshi and Kolkata Knight Riders because the youngster was in outstanding form. He was KKR's leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 422 runs in 13 matches at an excellent average of 42.20 and an impressive strike rate of 146.52. It is being said that doctors have advised the KKR batter to focus only on fitness and conditioning work before gradually returning to full cricket activities. However, the Mumbai youngster is not allowed to bat or field during the first 15 days of July.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi's journey so far
Angkrish Raghuvanshi is one of the most exciting young cricketers in India. The right-handed batter plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and KKR in the IPL. The Delhi-born player moved to Mumbai when he was 11 years old to improve his game under coaches Abhishek Nayar and Omkar Salvi.
Raghuvanshi turned heads during the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2022. He was India's highest run-scorer in the tournament with 278 runs and helped the team win the title. He also played an important role in India's Under-19 Asia Cup victory.
He made his senior debut for Mumbai in the 2023-24 domestic season. Later, Kolkata Knight Riders signed him for ₹20 lakh and helped the franchise to win the IPL trophy that season. Next year, they brought the youngster for ₹3 crore, and he repaid the faith with his remarkable show.
Raghuvanshi has also impressed in domestic cricket. He has scored 191 runs in 4 First-Class matches, 535 runs in 18 List A games, and 1,156 runs in 50 domestic T20s. In the IPL, he has made 885 runs in 35 matches, including seven fifties, for the Kolkata team.
