One of the factors of Suresh Raina pulling out of the IPL 2020 in the UAE last year was the tragedy that had hit his family.
Suresh Raina’s uncle Ashok Kumar and his son Kaushal were attacked in Pathankot’s Tharyal village on the night of August 19. Kumar, a contractor, died on the spot, while Kaushal dies due to injuries on August 31.
Now, a fourth person by the name of Chhajju Alias Chhaimar has been detained from Pachpedha village that falls under Baheri police station, in a joint operation by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab Police, as said by Additional Superintendent of Police Satyasen Yadav on Sunday. Last year in September, three members of the same gang were arrested.
Chhajju told police he escaped to Hyderabad after the incident and stayed there for some time before returning to his village in Bareilly.
Hopefully, we can win IPL for MS Dhoni: Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina hopes for winning the IPL once again for MS Dhoni. The left-hander who made his international retirement last year just hours after Dhoni had is positive about CSK’s chances this year – they are currently sitting on the second spot with 5 wins in 7 matches.
Suresh Raina asserted the importance of the likes of Moeen Ali, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dwayne Bravo, Sam Curran in the eleven as CSK were in a much better run of form than last year, but the tournament came to a halt after the covid-19 outbreak in multiple franchises, including CSK.
“Hopefully, when we go to Dubai, we will have a camp and we can again win it for him. I think the way we were playing this year, we were having some extra confidence from his captaincy and he was enjoying each other’s success. He was giving freedom to all the players and having Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo and Ruturaj in the side, we had the momentum. Hopefully, we can do it again this year for MS,” Suresh Raina told Star Sports.
