The Indian team management reportedly wants fast-bowler Anshul Kamboj in the squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against England.

The much-awaited series will kickstart India's campaign in the new World Test Championship cycle and is scheduled to get underway on June 20. The series will also mark the beginning of a new journey for the Indian team.

India to miss Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma

With batting stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retiring from Tests last month, the onus will be on the youngsters to deliver. In Shubman Gill, India also have a new captain, and the young batsman will be keen to start his captaincy reign on a positive note.

Team India have not won a Test series in England since 2007, and Gill has the opportunity to guide the team to a famous series win.

Anshul Kamboj on team management's radar:

While the India Test squad for the upcoming series has already been announced, the team management wants Kamboj in the squad, according to reports. The Haryana pacer recently played in the two unofficial Tests between India A and England Lions.

He made a big impression with both bat and ball on the final day of the second game. After scoring an unbeaten 51, Anshul Kamboj also picked up 2 wickets in an over. Overall, Anshul Kamboj has picked up 5 wickets in two games and has impressed with the bat as well.

His performance seems to have caught the eyes of the Indian team management and is likely to get a call for the upcoming series against England, according to RevSportz' Rohit Juglan.

Team India do have a strong fast-bowling lineup for the series. The pace attack will be led by Jasprit Bumrah, arguably the best fast bowler in the world at present. The other pacers in the squad are Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Shardul Thakur, and Arshdeep Singh.
