Notably, Rohit was also the ICC Brand Ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2026. The 38-year-old led the Indian team to the title in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup in 2024. It is worth mentioning that it was India's first ICC title after an 11-year drought.

Arshdeep Singh Reveals His Plans For Instagram Reels

Even before the final delivery was bowled, the star pacer had his social media scripts ready. Speaking to veteran broadcaster Harsha Bhogle after the historic victory, Arshdeep spoke about his grand celebration plans.

"I've thought of ten or fifteen reels, let's see how many we make," he told Harsha Bhogle when interviewed after India hammered New Zealand by 96 runs in the T20 World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Arshdeep did not take any wickets in the summit clash and finished with figures of 0/32. He was a crucial performer throughout the tournament. The left-arm pacer took nine wickets in eight matches, helping India become the very first host nation to defend their T20 World Cup title.

Suryakumar Yadav Joins Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni

Suryakumar Yadav added his name to India’s elite list of T20 World Cup-winning captains by joining MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. India first lifted the trophy in the inaugural 2007 edition under Dhoni, defeating Pakistan by five runs in a thrilling final at Johannesburg.

After finishing as runners-up in 2014 following a loss to Sri Lanka, India had to wait until 2024 to reclaim the title. Rohit Sharma led the team to that triumph as the Men in Blue defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final at Bridgetown.

The 2026 victory further strengthened India’s legacy in the format. With this success, they achieved several milestones, becoming the first team to win consecutive T20 World Cups, successfully defend the title, and lift the trophy as the host nation.
