Arshdeep Singh emerged as the star of the show in India’s resounding seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the opening game of the ongoing three-match T20I series on October 6 at the Madhavrao Scindia International Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.
The Indian pacer finished with stunning figures of 3/14 and clinched the Player of the Match award for his brilliant contribution to the Men in Blue’s dominating win over Bangladesh in the first T20I at the Madhavrao Scindia International Cricket Stadium.

Arshdeep Singh played a pivotal role in restricting Bangladesh to a mere 127 runs. Apart from him, Varun Chakravarthy also plucked a three-wicket haul on his comeback to ensure Team India’s dominant start and forced the team management to stick with him for the next game against Bangladesh.
Notably, the 25-year-old left-arm pacer showed his exceptional skills and control as he dismissed Litton Das, followed up with crucial scalps of Parvez Hossain Emon and Mustafizur Rahman.
His final over was particularly impressive, conceding only three runs and dismissing Mustafizur, cementing his reputation as a reliable frontline pace bowler for India.
Despite the presence of first-choice bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep’s consistent performances have made a strong case for him to be regular in India’s playing XI in T20Is.
The last over he bowled was unbelievable: Tamim Iqbal on Arshdeep Singh
Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal lauded Arshdeep Singh for his strategic approach and ability to bowl within his limits, emphasizing that his contributions have been significant over the years.
Tamim Iqbal was quoted as saying by Sports18: “The last over he bowled was unbelievable. People talk about overs bowled by others, but nobody talked about his over. His over was very crucial. And the best thing about him I liked is that he knows his limitations. He doesn’t go out of his limits, and he knows what he can and can’t do.”Arshdeep Singh declared India's first-choice pacer in T20Is by Tamim Iqbal: 'Whether Bumrah, Siraj come in...'
The former Bangladesh captain signed off by saying, “This isn’t about one match we are talking about, as he has been doing it for a number of years for India and has been phenomenal. He is a frontline bowler. Whether or not Bumrah and Siraj come in, he will definitely be in the playing XI.”
As India heads into the second T20I against Bangladesh, all eyes will be on Arshdeep to see if he can maintain his impressive form with the ball. The second T20I between India and Bangladesh will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 9.
