Team India left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh heaped praise on Mayank Yadav following his impressive debut performance in the first T20I against Bangladesh.

Arshdeep Singh highlighted that even his regular deliveries felt like slower balls compared to Mayank Yadav's pace during the series opener.

Mayank made his long-awaited international debut during the first T20I against Bangladesh at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Sunday, October 6.

He received his maiden T20I cap from former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and delivered a memorable performance.

Really Excited With Mayank Yadav - Arshdeep Singh

After the first T20I against Bangladesh, Arshdeep Singh was excited over Mayank Yadav’s debut performance. The left-arm pacer praised Mayank for his express-pace bowling, adding that his regular deliveries felt like slower balls.

"Really excited with the way everyone bowled, especially Mayank. Even my normal balls felt like slower balls compared to his pace," Arshdeep Singh said in the post-match presentation.

Mayank started his international career with impressive figures of 1/21 in four overs. The 22-year-old fast bowler varied his pace to trouble Bangladesh batters. He had a memorable debut despite not taking many wickets. The Suryakumar Yadav-led team won the first T20I match by seven wickets.

I Keep Learning And Exploring Things - Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh also spoke about his own performance and added that he didn't get the wicket the way he wanted. However, the young fast bowler said that he felt good about how the ball was coming off his hand. The Punjab cricketer said that bowlers need to adapt to the situation in T20Is.

"There's breeze from the end I was bowling. I didn't get the wicket the way I wanted but the ball is coming good from the hand. It's minor changes in the run-up, in the wrist, I keep learning and exploring things. The experience is there, the more you play the better you get," Arshdeep added.

"I guess the best thing in this format is how well you can adapt to the situation, to the wicket and to the ground dimensions as well. My motive is how well I can adapt and how quickly I can adapt," he concluded.

Arshdeep Singh Named "Player of the Match" For His Bowling

Arshdeep Singh delivered an impressive bowling performance during the first T20I match. He was awarded the "Player of the Match" for his outstanding bowling. The 25-year-old rattled Bangladesh's top order by dismissing opening batters Parvez Hossain Emon and Litton Das inside the powerplay.

Arshdeep concluded his spell by taking the wicket of Mustafizur Rahman in the final over. He finished his four-over quota with figures of 3/14 at an economy rate of 3.70. The Men in Blue took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The hosts will be hoping to complete the series victory in the 2nd T20I.
