India pacer Arshdeep Singh suffered a blow to his left arm during the fourth T20I against West Indies in Hyderabad on Wednesday, raising concerns about his availability for the series decider. Sanju Samson provided an update on the fast bowler after India levelled the five-match series 2-2.

The injury occurred in the final over of India's chase when Arshdeep Singh faced a short delivery from Shamar Joseph. The left-arm pacer was struck on his left bicep while attempting to move away from the ball, prompting the physio to come onto the field. India will now hope he recovers in time for the fifth T20I in Bengaluru.

Will Arshdeep Singh play IND vs WI 5th T20I? Sanju Samson gives update

Arshdeep Singh was batting in the 20th over when Joseph bowled a sharp short ball that struck him on the left bicep. He immediately went down in pain, forcing a brief interruption as the Indian medical staff checked on him.

The incident came during the closing stages of India's run chase, with the team attempting to reach West Indies' target. Although Arshdeep Singh was able to receive attention on the field, his condition remained a concern ahead of the final match.

Samson confirmed that the pacer was applying ice to the affected area after the game. However, he did not provide a definitive confirmation about Arshdeep Singh's availability for the series decider.

"Arshdeep is putting ice on his shoulders. Hopefully he gets well soon. He got struck by a high-speed ball. Hope he recovers soon," Sanju Samson said during the post-match press conference.

With the series levelled at 2-2, Sanju Samson acknowledged the visitors' performances and said India were motivated to finish the series with a win. He also stressed that the final game would be an opportunity for the hosts to regroup after an evenly contested series.

"We are 2-all now. All comes down to Bangalore now. We are really charged up for the last game. We have to get credit to West Indies cricket. They have come to our home and dominated 2 games. We are in the final now," Samson said.

The fifth T20I in Bengaluru will give India a chance to address the shortcomings from the previous match and secure the series on home soil.

Shreyas Iyer blames Arshdeep Singh and Co. for India's loss in 5th T20I

India's bowling performance came under scrutiny after West Indies posted a 247/3 on the board in the fourth T20I. Shreyas Iyer pointed to the team's execution with the ball as a key reason for the result, explaining that the chase became more difficult after India conceded too many runs.

Shreyas Iyer said India needed to bowl more accurately and follow a clearer approach while defending against West Indies' aggressive batting. He was satisfied with the intent shown during the chase but felt the team had fallen short earlier in the match.

"It all started with bowling. I think we didn't execute our line lengths well and see at the end of the day chasing 250 you have to go in a certain pattern when you're coming and chasing. So I like the approach when we were chasing but we were unfortunate we couldn't execute our plans in bowling and that's where we fell a bit short," Iyer said.
