Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh shared a lighthearted comment on ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah after the first T20I of the five-match series between India and South Africa. Arshdeep jokingly stated that the senior pacer would need to “earn” his place to appear in his Instagram reels, the way Virat Kohli recently did.

The Punjab-born cricketer regularly shares lighthearted videos featuring his India teammates on social media. His clips show a playful side of the Indian dressing room. After the third ODI against South Africa, Virat Kohli joined the conversation and delivered a joking jab at Arshdeep, and the clip quickly went viral.

The left-arm fast bowler joked that Bumrah still needed to take a few more wickets before making a cameo in one of his videos. Arshdeep said that if “Jassi bhai” keeps delivering breakthroughs, he might just make it onto his social media reels.

"Jassi bhai still needs to take some more wickets to feature on my Instagram. So, if he keeps working on that and keeps taking wickets, he might feature on my Instagram as well," said Arshdeep.

The Relation With Jasprit Bumrah Is Very Nice - Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh described his bond with Jasprit Bumrah as very nice. He stated that Bumrah treats young players with patience rather than pressure, creating a comfortable environment in the dressing room. Arshdeep added that their Punjabi background has helped them connect even more naturally.

"The relation with him is very nice. I'd say he is a gentle senior. He's never very harsh on any of the youngsters coming in, and he's very polite with them. So I'd say the relation is very nice, and we are Punjabi as well, so it's really easy to gel with him," said Arshdeep.

Arshdeep said that bowling in tandem with Jasprit Bumrah gives him a big advantage. The duo has already taken 47 wickets in their 14 games together. Arshdeep stated that batters often avoid taking risks against Bumrah, and that helps him create wicket-taking chances.

"It's great to bowl alongside him, because players mostly look to attack my bowling, and I'm always in the game to take some wickets because, even on good balls, they try to hit me for runs because they know, on the other side, Bumrah is not going to give an easy runs. So, it's a benefit for me as well, and I love it," said Arshdeep.

India defeated South Africa by 101 runs in the opening match. Bumrah and Arshdeep picked up two wickets each, helping India secure a 1-0 lead. The teams will meet again for the second T20I at the Mullanpur Stadium in Chandigarh on Thursday, December 11.
