Asia Cup 2023: Revealed - When Will Teams Arrive In Pakistan For The Tournament - Reports

The dates for the arrival of teams in Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 have reportedly been revealed. The competition will be held between August 30 and September 17.

Asia Cup 2023 is set to be played in the One Day International (ODI) format this time around and it will help the teams prepare for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be hosted by India.

A total of six teams will feature in the marquee tournament. India, Pakistan, and Nepal are in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are in Group B.

The teams finishing in the top two spots from both groups will enter the Super 4 stage. Further, the teams finishing in the top two spots in the Super 4 stage will make it to the final.

The tournament is set to be played in a hybrid model and it will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Out of 13 matches, 4 will be held in Pakistan and 9 will be hosted by Sri Lanka.

Pakistan under the leadership of Babar Azam recently won the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka. The Men In Green are set to reach Multan on Sunday, as per Cricket Pakistan.

The Afghans are set to reach Lahore on Monday and they will be traveling in a commercial flight from Colombo. The Nepal National Cricket Team are already in Pakistan, undergoing training sessions in Karachi. They will travel to Multan on Sunday. Notably, Pakistan will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Nepal in Multan on August 30.

India National Cricket Team have rejected to play in Pakistan and they will be playing all their matches in Sri Lanka while the remaining two teams – Bangladesh National Cricket Team and Sri Lanka National Cricket Team – will reach Lahore on September 1. The matches in Pakistan are set to be hosted by Multan and Lahore with the latter hosting three games..
