Asia Cup 2023: Taskin Ahmed Believes Bangladesh Can Win Championship With Best Performance

Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed believes that his team has the potential to become the champions of the upcoming Asia Cup. Taskin Ahmed revealed that he will be personally very happy if Bangladesh manages to reach the final of the continental tournament.

The Asia Cup 2023 will be played from August 30 to September 17 in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Shakib Al Hasan-led team was placed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. They will kick off their campaign in the tournament by facing Sri Lanka in Pallekele on August 31.

Speaking ahead of the team’s departure at the airport on Sunday, Taskin Ahmed revealed that the team’s primary aim is to reach the final of the upcoming tournament.

“Our main aim is to play the final of the Asia Cup as the teams’ achievement is the biggest achievement. I will be personally very happy if we can reach the final and could (be) able to play as a team,” Taskin was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.

“Please everyone pray for us. Obviously we wish to become the champion but the main thing is to play better cricket since we have the World Cup coming shortly. If we can play our best cricket its possible to become the champion,” he added.

Litton Das And Tanzim Hasan Sakib Missed his Flight To Sri Lanka

According to the latest news reports, Jalal Younus, the Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), stated that Litton Das missed the flight with his teammates to Sri Lanka due to fever.

Younus also mentioned that young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib also missed the flight to Sri Lanka due to an unconfirmed ticket. Sakib replaced injured Ebadot Hossain, who was ruled out of the tournament due to injury, in the 17-member squad.
