Team India’s preparatory camp ahead of Asia Cup 2023:
Before flying to Sri Lanka for Asia Cup 2023, the Indian team will have a preparatory camp in Bengaluru. According to a report in the Indian Express, the Indian team management along with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has planned a week-long camp just before the continental championship. The camp is likely to begin on August 24-25.
The preparatory camp means no player picked for Asia Cup 2023 will be a part of the Indian squad for the three-match T20I series in Ireland. The series between India and Ireland is scheduled to be played from August 18 to 23. The selectors are likely to name a second-string team for the tour. Recent reports have also suggested that India could have a new T20I captain for the series.
The news outlet further reported that the Indian board in a discussion with selectors and team management has requested that players be preserved for the ICC World Cup. The highly-anticipated marquee event is scheduled to begin on October 5.
