India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma came up with an epic response after a paparazzi told the modern-day batting great that fans are waiting for the Asia Cup 2023.

Asia Cup 2023 will be played in the 50-over format and it will be held between Wednesday, August 30, to Sunday, September 17. A total of six teams will feature in the marquee tournament, which consists of 13 matches.

India, Pakistan, and Nepal form Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are placed in Group B. The teams finishing in the top two spots from both groups will enter the Super 4 stage. Further, the teams finishing in the top two spots in the Super 4 stage will make it to the final.

India will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on Saturday, September 2, in the 3rd match of the event at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

On Wednesday, August 23, India captain Rohit Sharma left for Bengaluru where the Indian players will undergo a week-long camp at the National Cricket Academy ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The camp in Alur will begin on August 25.

At the Mumbai airport, a paparazzi spotted Rohit Sharma and told him that everyone is eagerly waiting for the Asia Cup. To this Rohit Sharma responded, saying “Jeetenge Jeetenge,” which translates to we will win the tournament.

Rohit sir, Asia Cup ka wait hai (Rohit sir, we will be waiting for the Asia Cup),” said the paparazzi.

“Jeetenge (We will win),” replied Rohit, assuring the Indian fans.

India have already named a strong 17-man squad for the tournament with Sanju Samson being the 18th member as a backup. The Rohit Sharma-led side have been boosted by the return of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah to the setup while Tilak Varma has been included in the team as a surprise pick.
