Asia Cup 2025- India schedule changed after high tension with Pakistan

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to begin on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Following the announcement, updates regarding the team’s departure and preparations for the event have been reported.
After a month-long break, the selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, officially announced the Asia Cup squad on Tuesday, August 19, in Mumbai. Ajit Agarkar and captain Suryakumar Yadav revealed that Shubman Gill will serve as the team’s new vice-captain, replacing all-rounder Axar Patel in the role.
Team India to Leave for Dubai on September 4 or 5 Without Prior Camp
The Men in Blue have not played a T20 match since February 2025. There were reports of the team holding a preparatory camp ahead of the Asia Cup.
According to News 24, Team India will depart for Dubai on September 4 or 5 for the tournament. The report also stated that the Men in Blue will not hold any prior camp.

Players are returning to T20 cricket after the IPL, and the Asia Cup will also serve as preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka next year.
India Open Asia Cup 2025 Campaign on September 10
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side will begin their Asia Cup 2025 campaign on September 10 against the UAE. They will play their next match against Pakistan on September 14, followed by their final group match against Oman on September 19. Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah will return to the team after a long absence.
The tournament will be held from September 9 to 28 in the UAE, with matches hosted in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The Men in Blue are placed in Group A with Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. The Men in Blue could face Pakistan three times.
After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4 round, which will be played in a round-robin format. The two best performers from the Super 4 will then compete in the final for the trophy.
Pakistan Prepare for Asia Cup 2025 With Camp and Tri-Series
Meanwhile, Pakistan will enter the Asia Cup 2025 with white-ball preparation, including a training camp and a tri-series. Their camp at the ICC Academy begins on August 22 to help players adjust to UAE conditions.
Following the camp, Pakistan will participate in a tri-nation T20I series in Sharjah from August 29 to September 7. The Men in Green will play the series against Afghanistan and the UAE. This schedule provides ample match practice and allows the selectors to rotate players, including new talent.
With several games leading up to the Asia Cup, Pakistan will arrive well-prepared, in contrast to the Men in Blue's preparation for the tournament.
