Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Ravindra Jadeja scored centuries to help India avoid defeat. India, who are trailing 1-2 in the five-match series, now have a chance to draw the series.

Before the series began, Bumrah was expected to play only three Tests as part of a workload management plan. With that quota met and his fitness now in question, his availability for the series decider remains uncertain.

Times of India Senior Assistant Editor Gaurav Gupta has reported that Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval due to a niggle. Gupta shared that fitness concerns are behind Bumrah’s likely absence.

India will need Bumrah in peak condition for the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup. Losing Bumrah to injury in red-ball cricket would be a significant setback, given the current depth in India’s pace attack.
