Kamran Akmal has predicted that the Salman Ali Agha-led Pakistan cricket team has everything to pull off a stunning victory against the world’s top-ranked T20I team in Dubai on Sunday.

India enters this much-awaited clash as the overwhelming favorites after their nine-wicket win over the UAE in their Asia Cup 2025 opener on September 10. Statistically, India has won 13 T20I games against Pakistan, and most recently, they won the thriller at the 2024 T20 World Cup.

But Kamran is not fazed by the past records. He believes that the Pakistani squad is full of confidence and firepower, and if they pick the right playing XI and execute their plans, they could upset the Men in Blue, just like in the 2022 Asia Cup.

This will be many young players' first time facing their fiercest rivals, India, on the big stage, and the pressure will be sky-high, but Akmal feels that pressure could work in Pakistan’s favor.

Kamran Akmal was quoted as saying by ARY News: “It will be a pressure game for both sides. Many of the young players will be playing against each other for the first time. Akmal urged fans from both India and Pakistan to stay positive and united during the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 match. He said that relations between the two countries are tense right now, but things will improve if the game is played in good spirit, urging fans to avoid crossing the line.

As quoted by Telecom Asia Sport, the Pakistani cricketer said, “Fans must show a big heart. These are tough times in India-Pakistan relations. It will be tense, and that is why there is fear. But I think it will get better only if the game goes well.”

He signed off by saying, “Fans should show a big heart and come together to enjoy the full match. It should be an atmosphere like in the past. I request fans not to cross the line, whether they are from Pakistan or India. They must make the match successful so that Indo-Pak matches continue.”
