Asia Cup 2025 schedule announced! India vs Pakistan on September 14

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced the full schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which is all set to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Asia Cup 2025 is all set to start on September 9, and the high-octane India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to be played on Sunday, September 14.

India and Pakistan are placed in Group A

Recently, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was held in Dhaka on Thursday, where all the members of ACC were present - either physically or via Zoom.

In the meeting, Asia Cup 2025, which was uncertain due to Indo-Pak tensions, was one of the key talking points, and decisions regarding the competition were made by the members.

Notably, cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan arose after five Pakistani terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir to kill 26 innocent people, and India launched Operation Sindoor to take revenge for the lives lost by destroying terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Despite the India-Pakistan tensions, the continental tournament got a green signal at the AGM, and Mohsin Naqvi, earlier on Saturday, announced the dates for Asia Cup 2025 and confirmed that the eight-team T20 tournament will be played in the UAE.

India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group - Group A - alongside Oman and UAE, while Group B consists of Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka.

The Men In Blue and Men In Green can lock horns with each other a maximum of three times, as the top two teams from each group will move to the Super Four stage, and the top two teams there will be the finalists.

The tournament will be hosted by the UAE despite India being the official hosts because of the three-year agreement signed between BCCI and PCB, which states that India and Pakistan won't travel to each other's country and the matches between the teams will be played at a neutral venue.

Meanwhile, India won the previous 50-over edition of the Asia Cup in 2023, and Sri Lanka won the previous 20-over edition of the tournament in 2022.
