The Pakistan National Cricket Team will begin their full and final preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 with the upcoming white-ball assignments against Bangladesh and the West Indies. There were concerns over the future of the Asia Cup 2025 due to India-Pakistan conflicts.
But it now seems that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has convinced all the parties to go ahead with the next edition of the subcontinental tournament, which will be held in the T20 format this season, keeping in mind the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Pakistan plans full T20 build-up for Asia Cup 2025 and ICC T20 World Cup 2026
The Pakistan National Cricket Team is scheduled to play three T20Is against Bangladesh on July 20, 22, and 24, and they will travel to the Caribbean Island for the full-fledged white-ball series in August. The Men in Green and the Men in Maroon are set to play three T20Is and three ODIs next month.
But the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) now wants to play all T20I matches on the West Indies tour to prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 and ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
As reported by Cricket Pakistan, the PCB is waiting to hear back from Cricket West Indies (CWI) about a request to change their upcoming three-match ODI series into T20I matches.
The PCB had requested the CWI to replace the three ODIs with T20I games. The reason behind this proposal is to help both teams get better prepared for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 and the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
If the West Indies agrees, the original three-match T20I series could be extended to five or even six matches.

PCB set to announce combined squad for West Indies and Bangladesh T20I series
The first T20I match is expected to be played on July 31. Talks between the two cricket boards are still going on, and an official announcement is likely to be made soon. If the change is not accepted, the PCB will announce a separate squad for the ODIs.
But if the ODIs are converted to T20Is, then PCB will reportedly announce a combined squad for both T20I series against the West Indies and Bangladesh, and there high chance of retaining that squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.
As of now, the three T20Is between the two teams are scheduled for July 31, August 2, and August 3. If the ODIs stay in the schedule, they will be played on August 8, 10, and 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.
Pakistan set to face Bangladesh in 3 T20Is this July
Currently, the Men in Green are getting ready for a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
The squad is set to arrive in Dhaka on July 16, and all the matches will take place at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. PAK vs BAN series will kick off on July 20, with the second and third T20I matches scheduled for July 22 and July 24, respectively, in Dhaka.
The last time two Asian teams met was in May when the Men in Green whitewashed the Tigers in the three-match T20I series at home. Bangladesh is currently on the Sri Lanka tour, and they are set to face the hosts in the three-match ODI series after the Test and T20I series.
