Indian cricketers have been reporting at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for their routine check ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, the continental championship for which the Indian selectors have yet to select their squad.
The eyes were all set on Suryakumar Yadav's return; however, several other players in the meantime made their way into the CoE and have reported themselves as fit.
Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya deemed fit for the Asia Cup 2025
A few days before, Indian batter Shreyas Iyer was seen reporting at the CoE, which had posed questions on his availability ahead of the marquee championship. Though Shreyas Iyer's T20 comeback has been put off, as per BCCI sources from the Indian media.
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya, India's all-rounder who dominates across the white ball formats, was also seen at the BCCI camp. All these moves to CoE were not owing to rehabs but due to the players checking on their fitness.
Now both Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya have been reported to be fit and available by RevSportz to play for India in the Asia Cup, obviously if they are picked. Although Shreyas Iyer might not be picked in the playing XI.

Suryakumar Yadav is on the way to recovery
India T20I skipper Suryakumar underwent surgery for a sports hernia, which kept him out of action for the last 2 months after the conclusion of the IPL. He has hence not been picked for the Duleep Trophy rounds as well.
Indian skipper's recovery phase was elongated and his return news was awaited, however, the Indians would be joyed to see him return to the nets and resume batting in the nets at the BCCI CoE.
The batter is returning from his rehab before the onset of the Asia Cup and hence is likely to lead the Indian side on the 10th of September.
Citing the circumstances under which Suryakumar Yadav might miss the upcoming Asia Cup due to his delayed return from injury, Shubman Gill was being considered as a backup for the role of the Indian T20 skipper.
Asia Cup to mark the comeback of skipper Shubman Gill
The Asia Cup is to resume on the 9th of September, and the UAE will be seen as hosts after the Indian board, BCCI, assigned them the task of hosting the continental championship, following the Pakistan model in their mind.
India gave the go-ahead to a neutral venue for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy hosted by archrivals Pakistan. As a result of this, they agreed to a deal with the PCB that every match featuring the India and Pakistan national teams will be played on a neutral venue
India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group, and the match has been scheduled between the two sides on the 14th of September.
