Auqib Nabi sends fiery message to Ajit Agarkar, destroys Rajasthan with 10-wicket haul & fifty after India A snub

Jammu & Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi, who gained the spotlight since the last Ranji Trophy and came into further notice with a dominant show in the Duleep Trophy, has continued his good work after being snubbed of selection into the India A squad for the upcoming series against Australia A.
Selections in the Indian team have been controversial in recent times. The Indian selectors recently picked an India A squad for the series against South Africa A at the BCCI Center of Excellence, but surprisingly snubbed some great performers like Sarfaraz Khan and Auqib Nabi from the team.
This has led to widespread communal as well as political ruckus, since the players are of a religion different from the Chief selector, and the political leaders have targeted Ajit Agarkar over the same.
Auqib Nabi seals a win for J&K with bat and ball
Auqib Nabi has been a special performer in the Indian domestic circles over the past year. He has had groundbreaking success representing Jammu & Kashmir in the domestic tournaments and has made the red-ball format his benchmark.
He knocked on the doors of selection with firm performances during their last Ranji season and then in the Duleep Trophy as well. However, he was ignored for a spot in the India A Squad for the upcoming series.
Not concerned by his non-selection, Nabi has decided to work hard on the controllable. He produced yet another eye-opening performance, as he picked a 10-wicket haul in the game against Rajasthan, 3 in the first innings, followed by 7 in the next and also scored a half-century at no. 9 to hand J&K a win against Rajasthan.
If knocking on the door doesn’t open it, breaking it down is the only option and no one understands it better than Auqib Nabi. After being again ignored from India A squad, he takes a 10-wkt haul and scores fifty at no. 9 to help J&K beat Rajasthan in #RanjiTrophy

Nabi was ignored for the India A squad despite splendid red-ball stats
While Auqib Nabi was handed the player of the match award for his commendable show in the Ranji Trophy, cheers have grown louder, claiming an India A spot for the North Indian pacer. He, anyway, had deserved a spot in the squad and most probably in the XI as well.
A look at Nabi's first-class numbers itself would earn him an obvious spot in the India A playing XI, not only the squad. These are areas where Agarkar and the BCCI's administration have been questionable.
In 12 matches since the start of the last Ranji Trophy, he has picked 68 wickets at an average of 13.1, with 8 five-wicket hauls to his name. To add to the tally, he has also produced 2 four-wicket hauls.

Prithvi Shaw scores the third-fastest Ranji Trophy double century
Shaw's move to Maharashtra has brought out the lost spark in the former Indian U19 skipper Prithvi Shaw. He moved from Mumbai to Maharashtra with an NOC after being dropped from the Ranji squad in 2024-25.
He scripted history in just his second match for Maharashtra, as he scored a double-century off just 141 balls in the second innings of the ongoing match against Chandigarh in Group B.
Shaw registered the double-century in just 141 balls and is the third fastest to reach the milestone in terms of balls, after Tanmay Agarwal (119 balls) and Ravi Shastri (123 balls). He was finally dismissed for an individual score of 222 off 156 balls, with 29 fours and 5 sixes.
