Always Looking To Score: Harry Brook
Ahead of AUS vs ENG 5th Test of Ashes 2023, Harry Brook revealed his attitude while batting. The young batter said that he always looks to score and is not just there to survive on the field.
“There’s a fine line between being aggressive and reckless. So it’s just trying to find that balance. I’d probably rather be on the recklessness side than the tentative side. Just always looking to score and I’m not just there to survive”, ESPNcricinfo quoted him as saying.
I Had A Couple Of Opportunities To Hit A Ton: Harry Brook
The middle-order batsman also said that he had good opportunities to smash a ton in the ongoing Ashes 2023 series but he threw away those chances.
“I feel like I’ve had a couple of opportunities this series to have got a 100 and I’ve thrown them away so we’ll see how I go this week. Got 46 at Edgbaston, 61 last week (Old Trafford) and maybe that fifty at Lord’s but I was batting crap so. I feel like I was too reckless at Lord’s”, Brook said.
In 7 innings across 4 games in Ashes 2023, Brook has shattered 271 runs at an average of 38.71. Although these are decent stats, it is a little below his capabilities as a batter.
However, the Yorkshire player came up with half-centuries in his last two stints. He shattered 75 runs in the 3rd Test in Headingley. In the previous Manchester Test, the right-handed batter scored 61 runs in the only innings he batted.
