England batter Joe Root equaled the massive record of great Sachin Tendulkar in Test cricket. The Englishman now has the same number of 300-plus scores in the Test series as both the batting greats have achieved the feat 19 times.
Joe Root achieved the feat in the ongoing fifth Test of the Ashes 2023 at The Oval in London when he completed 300 runs in the series. The English batter has been exceptional in the five-match series and has been the backbone of his team in the middle order.

Joe Root kick-started the series on a rollicking note as he smashed a magnificent ton in the first game at Edgbaston and then made sure he kept contributing heavily for his team in the all-important series. The right-hander has oozed his class even in the second innings of the ongoing match.
Joe Root, who scored 5 runs in the first innings, made sure that he ends the series on high as he smashed a sensational half-century that has put his team in the driver’s position. The batting great has played some glorious strokes and is looking set for a big knock.
