Former Australia seamer Glenn McGrath heaped praise on Stuart Broad after the England pacer announced his retirement from international cricket. Glenn McGrath also called Stuart Broad a true champion who loves the pressure.
During the ongoing 5th Test of Ashes 2023, England pacer Stuart Broad announced that he will pull the curtains down on his international career after the series. Broad recently reached the mark of 600 Test wickets, becoming only the second England player to reach the milestone after James Anderson.

Glenn McGrath Heaps Praises On Stuart Broad On His Retirement
While speaking on BBC, Australia bowling legend Glenn McGrath hailed Stuart Broad after his retirement call. McGrath also said that retiring on your own terms is a special thing.
“It is a big decision but you come to a time when you know. He loves the big moments, he loves the pressure and that is the sign of a true champion. Going out on your own terms is special as well. He has been incredible for England for a long, long time,” Glenn McGrath said.

Stuart Broad has shown marvelous form in Ashes 2023. With 20 scalps in 5 Tests, he is the leading wicket-taker for England in the series. He is also part of the ongoing ENG vs AUS 5th Test.
Earlier on Saturday, Broad announced his retirement decision on Sky Sports. The 37-year-old called his career a wonderful ride and said that he always wanted to end his career at his peak.
“It’s been a wonderful ride, a huge privilege to wear the Nottinghamshire and the England badge as much as I have and I’m loving cricket as much as I ever have.
It’s been such a wonderful series to be a part of and I’ve always wanted to finish it on top. This series feels like one of the most enjoyable and entertaining I’ve been a part of,” Broad had said.

Stuart Broad made his international debut long back in 2006. Since 2016, he only played in the longest format. Along with James Anderson, he has been a powerful pillar for the England team in Test cricket over the last few years.
Meanwhile, England have set a target of 384 runs for Australia in the ENG vs AUS 5th Test of Ashes 2023. Earlier, England piled up 283-10 in 1st innings to which Australia replied with 295 all-out. In the 2nd innings, the home side arrived with a powerful total of 395-10 with a stunning 91-run knock by Joe Root.
