The third T20I between Australia and New Zealand (AUS vs NZ) will be played at Eden Park in Auckland on Sunday, February 25. The match will be a dead rubber as Australia has already clinched the series by winning the first two T20 matches in the three-match series. However, the Kiwis will aim to win the third T20I to avoid being whitewashed in their home conditions by their neighbours.

The second T20I of the AUS vs NZ series was also played at the same venue in Auckland where New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first. Australia were off to an aggressive start scoring 74 runs in the powerplay but then lost wickets at regular intervals. They were bundled for 174 after such a solid start as Lockie Ferguson bagged a four-fer taking a figure of 4/12 whereas Ben Sears, Mitchell Santner, and Adam Milne got two wickets each.

Australia in response bundled New Zealand for just 102 as Adam Zampa bagged a figure of 4/34 with Nathan Ellis taking two wickets. Skipper Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood got a wicket each in the match to claim the victory by 72 runs. Australia has already sealed the series by winning the first two T20Is. The first T20I was a last-ball thriller between the two teams whereas the second T20I was a rather one-sided contest.

Mitchell Marsh is leading the Australian side whereas Mitchell Santner is the captain of the New Zealand team in the AUS vs NZ series. Some key players are missing from the New Zealand side as Kane Williamson is absent from the series as he is on parental leave, Daryl Mitchell is not playing the series because of a foot injury and Michael Bracewell is nursing a finger injury.

Devon Conway has also been ruled out of the third T20I after injuring his thumb. From Australia, Marcus Stoinis and Aaron Hardie are missing the series due to back and calf injuries respectively.
