Iceland Cricket has brutally trolled Mohammad Hafeez after his recent remarks about Pakistan’s performance in the second Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. After winning the first Test by 360 runs, Australia beat Pakistan by 79 runs in the second game to clinch the three-match series with a match remaining.

The hosts managed to win the Test in four days to extend their domination over Pakistan in home Tests. Captain Pat Cummins led from the very front and picked up 5 wickets in the second innings to help his side bowl out the visitors for 237. Pakistan were chasing 317 runs for victory.

At one stage, Pakistan were on 219 for 5 and were looking set to give Australia a run for their money before they suffered an inexplicable collapse that saw them lose their last five wickets for just 18 runs. The last four batters all fell for ducks.

Earlier in the game, Australia scored 318 runs in the first innings before bowling out Pakistan for 264. In the second innings, Australia recovered from 16 for 4 to post 262. After the match ended, Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan’s team director, raised a number of eyebrows by claiming that his team played better cricket.

“The whole game I will sum up, our Pakistan team played better than the other team in general,” Mohammad Hafeez said after the match.

Iceland Cricket trolls Mohammad Hafeez:

Mohammad Hafeez’s comment has stirred quite a reaction in the cricket fraternity, drawing a range of responses. While he did find few supporters for his comments, he also faced criticism for the same. The former Pakistan captain also faced severe trolling for claiming that his team performed better despite losing the game in four days.

Iceland Cricket decided to remind Mohammad Hafeez about Pakistan’s terrible record in Tests in Australia after his comment. Pakistan have not won a Test in Australia since 1995 and have now lost 16 games in a row.

“It’s amazing. How can the more talented and superior team have lost 16 matches in a row in Australia? Surely those lucky Aussies will stop being lucky soon,” wrote Iceland Cricket.

Pakistan will be looking to bounce back in the third and final Test, starting next week. While the series is already lost, the visitors will be desperate to register a Test win in Australia. They have not won a Test in Australia this century.
