The 36-year-old Australia National Cricket Team opening batsman David Warner has finally smashed a century in Test cricket to break nearly a three-year century drought in the purest format of the game.

The veteran left-handed opener was struggling to register big scores in Test cricket for quite some time and questions were raised over his place in the Test team, with many even suggesting that he should consider retirement from the longest format of the game.

However, David Warner proved the doubters wrong with an innings to remember as he smashed a marvellous century in his 100th match in Test cricket to join the game’s greats in the elite club.

David Warner registered his 25th Test ton in the second match of the three-match series against Dean Elgar-led South Africa National Cricket Team at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. He reached the three figures off just 144 deliveries, pulling a Kagiso Rabada delivery down to fine leg for a boundary and bringing out his trademark celebration.
