South African batter Quinton de Kock set the stage on fire in the ongoing match 10 of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Australia. The keeper-batter put his team on the top at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow with his staggering batting but got out while attempting an unorthodox shot. 

Quinton de Kock slammed his second consecutive century of the ICC World Cup as he took Australia’s bowlers to the cleaners. The opening batter timed the ball to perfection and played some breathtaking shots. His innings provided a great platform for Proteas to end the innings on high. 

It seemed that Quinton de Kock would get a big hundred but he couldn’t as he got out bizarrely. It was during the 5th ball of the 36th over when Glenn Maxwell bowled a short ball. The batter tried to play the reverse pull and smack it for six. 

But he got into a clumsy position. The ball took the inside edge which dropped off his body and then bounced onto the stumps to send him packing after a brilliant hundred. Here’s the video:

Quinton de Kock gave South Africa a great start as he added 108 runs opening partnership with captain Temba Bavuma (35). He reached his century with a six in 90 balls and backed up his ton against Sri Lanka with another brilliant hundred. 

Quinton de Kock ended with the score 109 runs off 106 balls. He smashed 8 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. The keeper-batter battered with a strike rate of over 102. His knock helped SA cross the 200-run mark with ease. 

AUS vs SA: Glenn Maxwell doesn’t concede a boundary in his spell; Removes Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma as well 

Glenn Maxwell surely has been the pick of the bowlers for Australia in the ongoing game. The all-rounder filled in the role of the second spinner in the team staggering well. Not only he took wickets, but he was economical as well and made sure that he frustrated South African batters. 

Glenn Maxwell didn’t concede a single boundary in his innings and picked two wickets in Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma. He returned with the figures of 2/34 in his quota of 10 overs. He bowled a maiden over during his spell as well.
