Australia stars, led by Cameron Green, skyrocket in ICC Rankings after ODI series loss to SA

Australia’s Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Cameron Green have stormed back into the spotlight despite the ODI series loss to South Africa at home. The Australian stars made a huge statement in the latest ICC ODI Rankings following their stunning performances in the final ODI against the Proteas.
The third and final ODI match in Mackay turned into a batting carnival as Australia blasted 431/2, thanks to blistering centuries from Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Cameron Green against the Proteas side. They recorded a massive 276-run victory to avoid a whitewash against the tourists.
Australia stars skyrocketing in the latest ICC ODI Rankings
Head (142), Marsh (100), and Green’s (118*) explosive performances helped them make big gains in the latest ICC ODI Rankings. In the latest ICC ODI Rankings, Head jumped one spot to share 11th place with Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis. Both have 669 rating points to their names.

Well, Marsh climbed four positions to reach 44th, while Green shot up an incredible 40 places to jump to 78th position in the latest rankings. While Marsh has 537 rating points, Green has 451 rating points, making him one of the fastest risers in recent ICC ODI Rankings history.
Meanwhile, Josh Inglis also moved up to the 64th position in the latest rankings with a 23-spot gain, thanks to his 87-run knock in the second ODI against South Africa. Inglis now has 477 rating points. On the other hand, India’s Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma continue to dominate the batter rankings, with Pakistan’s Babar Azam holding the number three spot.
Maheesh Theekshana and Keshav Maharaj share top spot in the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings
Speaking about ICC ODI Bowling Rankings, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana joined South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj at the top with 671 rating points. Now, Maharaj and Theekshana are the joint No. 1 ODI bowlers in the world. South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi jumped to the 28th position with a six-spot gain.
Australian pacer Sean Abbott surged nine spots to tie for 48th, while Nathan Ellis jumped 21 places to 65th with strong performances against the Proteas in the latest rankings. West Indies’ Gudakesh Motie jumped from the 10th spot to the 11th position in the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings.

India’s Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj have jumped to 12th and 13th spots, respectively, with a one-spot gain in the latest rankings. Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed and England’s Jofra Archer each climbed two spots to make it to the 24th and 25th positions in the ODI rankings.
Azmatullah Omarzai remains the No.1 ODI All-Rounder
On the other hand, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai remains the number one ODI all-rounder, and there are no changes in the top 10. New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra jumped to the 12th spot from 13th, while Sean Abbott jumped to 37th position.
Lungi Nagdi climbed from the fourth spot to the 42nd position in the rankings. In the all-rounders ranking, Green made a 19-spot gain to reach 69th position.
