Australia Women's Team Retain Their No.1 Rank In The ICC T20I Rankings Following The Yearly Update

Australia women’s cricket team have retained their No.1 rank in the ICC WT20I rankings. The Meg Lanning-led side has attained the top rank following the yearly update made by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Australia Women’s Team currently has 297 ratings and are well ahead of England, who are second on the charts. The Three Lions have 282 ratings. The Meg Lanning-led side is at the top because of their T20I World Cup triumph. They recently also played games against the West Indies.

Australia Women’s Cricket are currently engaged in the series against West Indies. The series currently stands at 1-1 as both the teams have produced a staggering performance. The competition between the bat and ball has been fairly high and the series has seen even many records getting shatter as well.

The series decider between Australia Women and West Indies Women will take place on 5th October. With the way the series has panned out, it’s fair to say that it’ll be an enthralling final match of the seires.

New Zealand Women have bagged the the third sport with ratings of 264 whereas India Women are slightly behind them. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led are placed fourth on the points table with ratings of over 260. The rankings go further with South Africa (fifth), West Indies (sixth), Sri Lanka (seventh) Pakistan (eighth).

Papua New Guinea (11th) pipped up Zimbabwe, which are 12th while Spain made a big hype and rose five spots and rose to 35th position.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that new rankings reflect all series completed since October 2020, with those completed prior to October 2022 weighted at 50 per cent and subsequent series weighted at 100 per cent.
