Karun Nair has opened up about his future with the India National Cricket Team after his comeback story turned out forgettable for him as a batter. Karun Nair was recalled to the Indian Test team for the recent England tour following his record-breaking domestic season with Vidarbha.

However, the right-handed batter failed to make the most of the given opportunities, and now his future seems blurry with the national team. Nair scored 205 runs in four Test matches at an average of 25 with just one half-century to his name, but India managed to draw the five-match Test series 2-2.

Karun Nair was quoted as saying by Insidesport: “Yeah, very much. We have quite a break. So, looking forward to, you know, getting better as players and getting better in terms of fitness and in terms of skills. Karun Nair ready to bat anywhere, focused on backing his skills

On being asked about the changes in his batting position on the England tour, Nair said that he had no fixed preference for his batting position. He started at six, moving to three, and later to five, but the batter stressed that he was simply happy to be back on the team.

The right-handed batter further added, “Not really. Obviously, I just wanted to get back into the team and represent my country, and it was a dream for me. I was really happy to get the opportunity, and I was ready to bat wherever the team management asked me to bat. So, I was really happy to just contribute for the team.”

Nair also revealed that he won’t change much for the upcoming Test series against the West Indies and will simply trust his skills despite his struggles in the recent Test series against England. He signed off by saying, “Not really. I will back my skills.”
