Babar, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, had another disappointing outing in the PSL 2025 against Multan Sultans on April 19. He was dismissed for two runs off five balls after Zalmi chose to bat first at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The right-handed batter recorded scores of 0 and 1 in previous outings.

Babar was excluded from the T20I squad for Pakistan's recent tour of New Zealand. While he retained his place in the ODI squad, he was left out of the T20I team. The ongoing Pakistan Super League 2025 is a crucial opportunity for Babar to impress selectors and earn a spot back in the T20I side.
Peshawar Zalmi Secured a 120-Run Victory Despite Babar Azam's Failure
This was Peshawar's first win of the season after losses to Quetta and Islamabad United. They are currently fifth on the points table. Meanwhile, Multan have lost all three of their matches and are at the bottom. Islamabad United leads the table with three wins from three games.
Peshawar's next matches are against Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Quetta on April 21, 24, and 27, respectively.
