Fans on X were elated in joy after Bangladesh Cricket Team batter Mehidy Hasan Miraz smashed a staggering ton in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 game against Bangladesh. The right-hander set the on fire at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

Mehidy Hasan was promoted up the order by the Bangladesh team management and he repaid their faith by smashing a rollicking century. The right-hander looked settled right from the ball 1 and played some crips shots, finding gaps and punishing bad balls. 

Mehidy Hasan Miraz first shared a staggering 60-run partnership with Mohammad Naim (28). But after Bangladesh lost two quick wickets, he rebuilt the innings alongside Najmul Hossain Shanto, who also slammed his century. The duo took the game away from the opposition with their 200-plus partnership. 

Mehidy Hasan Miraz made mockery of the Afghanistan bowlers and brought up his century in 115 balls including 6 fours and 2 sixes. In the must-win game, he rose to the occasion and carried his team with a sensational knock in the pressure game. 

In the absence of two seasoned openers in Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan stepped up for the side and made sure that the fans didn’t miss the regular openers. Opening the innings, he made sure that he set the stage on fire. This is also his second ton in the 50-over format. The batter was retired hurt for 112 off 119 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. The batter felt some discomfort in his hand and left the field.
