Mujeeb Ur Rahman yet again made a schoolboy error as he got out hit-wicket. This happened during the Asia Cup 2023 game between Afghanistan and Bangladesh at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday (3rd September).

Afghanistan had a poor outing with bat and ball in the game as suffered a massive 89-run loss. While chasing the target of 335 runs, they lost their way and were reduced to 221/8. Mujeeb Ur Rahman along with Rashid Khan then brought smiles to the faces of Afghanistan fans.

They hit some boundaries and entertained the fans. Mujeeb Ur Rahman hit a magnificent six on the delivery from Taskin Ahmed. The ball went over the wide long-on but he made a blunder as he went deep inside his crease and disturbed the stumps with his back foot in the process to see him getting hit wicket.

Here’s the video:

Mujeeb Ur Rahman scored 4 runs off 8 balls. This was, however, not the first time when he got hit wicket. He got out in a similar fashion during the recently concluded third ODI against Pakistan ahead of the Asia Cup 2023. He became the first player in ODI history to get dismissed hit wicket in back-to-back games.

After his wicket, Afghanistan lost Rashid Khan as well and were bundled out for 245 runs. They lost the game by a massive margin of 89 runs. Earlier with the ball, they were poor and conceded 334 runs.

BAN vs AFG: Mujeeb ur Rahman picks one wicket against Afghanistan

Afghanistan managed to pick just 5 wickets in the first innings and one among them was picked by Mujeeb Ur Rahman. He sent Mohammad Naim packing with a peach of a delivery. It was the first wicket that his side picked on the day.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman after that wicket leaked quite a few runs. He didn’t manage to pick wickets after that as he conceded 62 runs in his quota of 10 overs. He will be next seen in action when Afghanistan take on Sri Lanka on Tuesday (5th September).
