BAN vs SL: Dinesh Karthik Lauds Mushfiqur Rahim For Completing 5000 Test Runs

After Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim became the first player from his country to score 5000 runs in Test cricket, veteran Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik praised him.

At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the Bogra-born cricketer created history during the Tigers’ ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka.

Before Mushfiqur, Tamim Iqbal was in contended to become the first player to surpass 5000 runs, but he fell 19 runs short. Mushfiqur scored 105 runs off 282 balls with four fours before being dismissed by Lasith Embuldeniya.

Karthik, who presently plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), praised Rahim for being Bangladesh cricket’s flag-bearer for many years.

“Scoring 5000 Test runs is a remarkable accomplishment for any batsman, and what he has accomplished is incredible.” Dinesh Karthik Said.

On the current episode of the ICC Review, Karthik was cited as saying, “Whenever you are a shining star, a leading light, while doing something initially, you have always been tried to look up to and respected, and Mushfiqur Rahim is undoubtedly the case” Dinesh Karthik Added.

“A lot of teenagers in that part of the world try to be like him and admire him as a player.” He has been quite dependable and has produced both in and outside of Bangladesh,” Dinesh Karthik said.

“He has served the country for decades and has a lot of accomplishments that have stood him in good favor over the period,” Karthik added.

Bangladesh gained a substantial lead of 68 runs after the first innings was completed, thanks to Rahim’s century. The 34-year-old has 5037 runs at an average of 36.50 in 81 Tests, with eight hundred and 25 half-centuries.
